Whether you're building a paid membership, hosting a coaching programme or creating a free community for your audience, Alvéya gives you the tools to manage everything in one place.
Even better, your members can access your community and course content on their phones using the Kollab mobile app, available for iPhone and Android.
In this guide, we'll walk you through how to:
Create and customise your community in Alvéya.
Organise discussions using channels.
Add members and manage access.
Create and share courses with your community.
Help members access everything through the Kollab app.

Your community is now created and ready to customise.
Tip: Choose a clear, recognisable name that helps members understand what your community is about.
For example, if you're a business coach, you might call your community The Business Growth Collective.
Step 2: Customise Your Community
Step 2: Customise Your Community
Once you've created your community, you can personalise its appearance and settings.
Open your community and navigate to Group Settings.
Depending on the settings available, you can customise:
Community branding: Add your logo, cover image and community description.
Privacy settings: Choose whether your group is public or private.
Community details: Update your group name and information.
Membership settings: Manage how people join and access your community.
Community guidelines: Establish expectations for how members interact.
You can change a group's visibility later by opening Group Settings → Details and updating its public or private setting.
We recommend completing your community branding and settings before inviting members.
Step 3: Organise Your Community With Channels
Step 3: Organise Your Community With Channels
Channels help organise conversations so members can easily find relevant information.
For example, you might create channels for:
Announcements: Important updates and news.
Introductions: A place for new members to introduce themselves.
General Discussion: Everyday conversations and questions.
Resources: Helpful information, links and downloads.
Questions & Support: A dedicated space where members can ask for help.
To set up your channels:
Open your community.
Find the channel management area.
Create a new channel.
Give it a name and description.
Configure its visibility and access settings.
Save your changes.
Repeat these steps for each channel you'd like to create.
Tip: Start with three to five channels. You can always add more as your community grows.
You can also use private channels to create dedicated spaces for specific members or groups.
Step 4: Invite Members to Your Community
Step 4: Invite Members to Your Community
Once your community is ready, it's time to invite your members.
Depending on your community settings, you can share a joining link or grant access to contacts through Alvéya.
Before inviting people, decide whether your community will be:
Free: Members can join without paying.
Paid: Members purchase access to your community through a membership or payment arrangement.
Private: Access is restricted to people you've specifically invited or authorised.
If you're creating a paid community, you'll need to configure the relevant payment and access settings before promoting it.
Once members have joined, they can sign in to access the content and discussions available to them.
Step 5: Add Courses to Your Community
Step 5: Add Courses to Your Community
You can also use Alvéya to deliver online courses, training programmes and educational resources.
This is particularly useful for coaches, educators, consultants and businesses offering memberships with learning content.
Create a course
In your Alvéya account, navigate to Memberships.
Open the Courses area.
Create a new course.
Add your course title, description and relevant images.
Organise your content into modules and lessons.
Add your learning materials, such as videos, written content and downloadable resources.
Configure your course access settings.
Publish your course when it's ready.
Make your course available to members
After creating your course, configure access for the members who should receive it.
Depending on your setup, you can make courses available through your community's learning area or grant access through a separate course enrolment.
Important: Joining a community doesn't automatically guarantee access to every course. Make sure you've configured the appropriate permissions and enrolments.
Members with access can move between their community discussions and learning content.
Step 6: Give Members Access Through the Kollab Mobile App
Step 6: Give Members Access Through the Kollab Mobile App

The app allows members to:
View and participate in community discussions.
Read posts and leave comments.
Access courses they've enrolled in.

Step 7: Test Your Community Before Launching
