The Social Planner Settings area allows you to control how your accounts connect, how posts are published, and how your content is branded across platforms. This page walks through each tab so you can configure your system correctly from the beginning.
Part 1: Connect Facebook through Alvéya Settings → Integrations
Part 1: Connect Facebook through Alvéya Settings → Integrations
Step 1: Go to Settings > Integrations. In your Alvéya dashboard, navigate to Settings and scroll down to Integrations.
Note: Even if you have already connected your social media through the Social Planner, you still need to complete this integration step separately.
Step 2: Click Connect on Facebook. Locate the Facebook option and click the Connect button. Because Facebook manages Instagram, this single connection covers both platforms.
Step 3: Log in and grant permissions. You will be prompted to log in to Facebook and give Lead Connector permission to communicate directly through Facebook. Follow the prompts and select your account. Choose All Leads, then click Connect and Continue.
Step 4: Skip the lead capture form (optional). The next screen asks about lead capture forms within Facebook. If you are only using this connection for automations — not Facebook lead ads — you can select No, I will do it later and move on.

Before you start:
If you have already connected your Facebook pages from any profile previously and want to add new pages, you will have to Remove the application from your Facebook Settings > Business Integration section on your Facebook account and follow the steps below again.
To add all your Facebook pages, you must have Admin rights. It is mandatory to log in with the same profile that has admin access to all the pages.
Due to Facebook's API changes, posting to Facebook personal profiles is no longer supported — however, you can add pages from different profiles for Social Planner.
Step 1. Go to Social Planner > Settings
In the top right corner of Social Planner, click the Settings option (gear icon).
Step 2. Click Connect a New Facebook Page
Click Connect a new Facebook page to manage multiple Facebook Pages.
Step 3. Give Permissions to Fetch Facebook Page(s)
If you're connecting a profile for the first time, make sure you give all the permissions to it. Click Continue to complete the authorisation process.
Step 4. Select Facebook Page(s) to Connect
It will list all the Facebook pages for this profile — select the ones you wish to connect for Social Planner.
Step 5. Verify Your Connection
All of the selected pages will be listed showing a successful connection. You can add as many pages as you wish from the same or different Facebook profiles.
Troubleshooting Connections — Fix Missing Permissions in Meta Business Suite
If you see a Missing Permissions error after connecting, you need to grant Lead Connector access directly in Meta Business Suite:
Open Meta Business Suite and select your business page from the profile selector.
Navigate to Settings > Connected Apps. In the left-hand menu, go to Settings, then scroll to the Connected Apps or Integrations section. Locate Lead Connector in the list.
Set permissions to Allow All Conversations. Click Manage next to Lead Connector, then select Allow All Conversations. This grants Lead Connector permission to view and respond to conversations, even when they are not actively routed through another app — which is required for automations to work correctly.
Return to Alvéya and refresh. Refresh the page and navigate to your automation triggers. The Facebook/Instagram trigger should now display as active (shown in green). You can now select your connected page or account from the dropdown.
Notifications Settings
Settings > Social Planner > Notifications
The Notifications tab lets you configure automated email alerts for key social media events — so you and your team are always informed when something needs attention.
You can set up notifications for three types of events:
Post approvals — when a scheduled post is approved and ready to go
Post failures — when a post fails to publish so it can be addressed quickly
Account expirations — when a connected social account token is about to expire and needs refreshing
Each notification rule has the following fields:
Notification Type — the trigger for the alert: post approval, post failure, or account pre-expiry.
Email Template — the email template used for the notification. You can customise this in your email template settings.
Users to Notify — select which team members should receive the alert. You can add multiple users.
Reminder Frequency — how often the reminder is resent if the issue has not been resolved — useful for expiry alerts.
Status — toggle the notification rule on or off without deleting it.
Account Pre-Expiry Notifications —
This is the most important notification to have active. Social media platforms periodically require you to re-authenticate your connected accounts — if the token expires, your scheduled posts will stop publishing. The Account Pre-Expiry alert sends an email before your token expires, giving you time to reconnect the account and avoid any disruption to your content schedule.
Tip:
We recommend enabling this notification for all team members who manage social media, and setting a reminder frequency so the alert repeats until the account has been refreshed.
Pinterest requires a separate connection flow. From the Social Planner settings tab you can connect your Pinterest account, authorise publishing permissions, and confirm board access. Make sure the correct Pinterest account is connected if you manage multiple brands.
Social Categories
Social Categories allow you to organise your content by theme. Examples: Educational, Engagement, Promotions, Behind the Scenes, Inspiring/Empowering, Email List Growth/Opt In Promotion.
Using categories helps you maintain content balance, track strategy patterns, and filter content inside the planner.
To create a category:
Click Add Category
Name the category
Save
You can edit or remove categories at any time.
Watermark
The Watermark tab allows you to apply branded overlays to your visual content. You can upload watermark images, assign a different watermark per social account, and update watermark versions.
This ensures consistent brand presence, subtle ownership of visual assets, and platform-specific branding where required.
Note: Posts created before updating your watermark will retain their original watermark. To apply a new one, you must edit and resave the post.
Global Settings
Image Optimisation — Controls how images are compressed before publishing. Enabled: faster load time, slightly reduced image quality. Disabled: higher quality, larger file size. If brand visuals are critical, consider managing optimisation carefully.
Apply Watermark by Default — If enabled, new posts will automatically use the latest assigned watermark. If disabled, watermarks must be applied manually when creating posts.
Best Practice Setup
Connect all required social accounts first
Enable expiration notifications
Create your core content categories
Assign watermarks per platform
Confirm timezone in Global Settings
Once configured, your Social Planner will run smoothly with minimal maintenance.
