To use Instagram DM automations, comment triggers, or Facebook Messenger automations in Alvéya, your accounts must be connected correctly. This connection is separate from the Social Planner connection — both are needed if you want to schedule posts and run automations.
Before You Start
Your Instagram account must be a Business or Creator account — personal accounts cannot be used for automations.
Your Instagram account must be linked to a Facebook Page that you have admin access to.
You must log in with the Facebook profile that has admin rights to the page.
Step 1: Connect Facebook in Alvéya
Go to Settings → Integrations.
Find Facebook and click Connect.
Log in to Facebook and grant Lead Connector the requested permissions.
Select the Facebook Page(s) you want to connect, then click Connect and Continue.
Step 2: Connect Instagram
Still in Settings → Integrations, find Instagram and click Connect.
Log in and authorise access to the Instagram Business account linked to your Facebook Page.
Confirm the correct Instagram account is showing as connected.
Step 3: Grant Message Permissions in Meta Business Suite
For DM automations to work, Lead Connector needs permission to view and respond to conversations:
Open Meta Business Suite and select your business page.
Go to Settings → Connected Apps (or Integrations).
Find Lead Connector and click Manage.
Select Allow All Conversations.
Also check your Instagram app settings: go to Settings → Privacy → Messages and ensure Allow Access to Messages is turned on for connected tools.
Step 4: Verify the Connection in Your Automations
Return to Alvéya and refresh the page.
Open Automation → Workflows and create or open a workflow.
Add a trigger such as Instagram DM, Instagram Comment, or Facebook Message.
The trigger should show as active (green) and your connected page or account should appear in the dropdown.
Troubleshooting
Trigger showing as inactive? Re-check the Allow All Conversations permission in Meta Business Suite, then refresh Alvéya.
Instagram account not appearing? Confirm it is a Business/Creator account and is linked to the Facebook Page you connected.
Connected the wrong account? Remove the integration in both Alvéya and your Facebook Business Integration settings, then reconnect from scratch.
