Add Multiple Price Points and Payment Plans

One product can have multiple prices — a full-price option, an early bird rate, a payment plan, or all three. This step shows you how to set them up so buyers can choose at checkout, and so you can swap which prices are visible as your launch progresses.

Before you start

You should have already created your product in Step 1. Open that product now — your prices will be added directly within it. Have your pricing amounts decided and written down before you start.

Adding a price

Inside your product, scroll down to the Pricing section. You will see an option to Add Price. Each price you add is a separate option that can be shown or hidden on your order form independently.

One-time payment (full price)

  1. Click Add Price.

  2. Set the Type to One Time.

  3. Enter the amount.

  4. Give this price a clear name that will make sense to your buyer at checkout — for example: Pay in Full, Early Bird Full Price, or Webinar Special.

  5. Click Save.

💡 Naming your prices clearly helps buyers make a confident decision at checkout. 'Pay in Full' is clearer than a bare dollar amount. 'Early Bird — Save $100' reminds them of the value of acting now.

Payment plan (recurring)

If you want to offer a split-payment option, set up a second price as a recurring payment.

  1. Click Add Price again.

  2. Set the Type to Recurring.

  3. Enter the amount per payment — divide your total price by the number of payments. You may choose to round up slightly to account for any payment processing fees.

  4. Set the billing frequency — Monthly is the most common for course payment plans.

  5. Set the Total Number of Payments. For a two-payment plan, enter 2. Alvéya will automatically stop charging after the final payment.

  6. Name this price clearly — for example: 2 Monthly Payments of $372.50.

  7. Click Save.

⚠️ The first payment is taken immediately at checkout. The remaining payments are charged automatically on the same day of the following months. Make sure your buyer understands this — consider adding a note to your sales page or order form confirmation text.

Managing multiple price points

You can have as many price options under one product as you need. For a course with early bird, full price, and a payment plan, you might have three to four prices set up. They all sit under the same product.

  • When you attach the product to your order form (Module 3), you choose which prices are visible to buyers at that time.

  • As your launch progresses — for example, when your early bird period ends — you simply go back to the order form and swap which prices are showing. The product itself stays the same.

  • You can update price names without affecting existing purchases.

💡 Set a calendar reminder to update your visible prices at each key date in your launch — for example, when the early bird closes and when the standard price takes over. It only takes a minute but it is easy to forget in the middle of a launch.

Optional: adding a setup fee

If you want to charge a small additional amount on the first payment of a payment plan — to cover processing fees or as a small incentive to pay in full — you can add a Setup Fee when creating a recurring price. This fee is charged once, at checkout, in addition to the first instalment.

Your pricing options are in place — next you will configure your tax settings so GST is calculated and applied correctly at checkout.
