One-step vs two-step forms
Alvéya gives you two layout options for your checkout form:
One-step form — all fields (personal details and payment information) appear on the same page. Buyers can see exactly what they are filling in and what they are paying before they commit. This is generally the recommended choice for course sales.
Two-step form — personal details are collected on the first screen, and payment information appears on the second screen after they click Next. This can work well for higher-friction offers, but for most course checkouts, one step is simpler.
If you need to add an order form to a page
In the page builder, click on the form element to open its settings panel.
Look for a Order Form widget (not form)
Select One Step or Two step
Save the page.
💡 The one-step form also makes it easier for buyers to see the price and their card details side by side before clicking the final purchase button — which can actually increase confidence, not reduce it.
Reviewing the form fields
By default, the order form collects first name, last name, email address, and payment details. You can add or remove fields depending on what you need.
Email address is required — this is how Alvéya identifies the contact and sends purchase confirmation.
Phone number is optional. Consider whether you genuinely need it before adding it — every extra field is a small barrier.
You can remove fields by clicking on them and deleting, or toggling them off in the field settings.
Checking button text
The submit button on your order form should clearly tell buyers what happens when they click it. Update the button text to something like Complete My Purchase, Enrol Now, or Secure My Spot — whatever fits your offer and tone.
Click the submit button element in the order form settings
Update the text in the settings panel.
Check the button colour matches your brand (you set this in Module 1 Step 4).
Save.
Adding a short reassurance line
A small line of text just below your submit button — something like Secure checkout. Your details are protected. — can reduce hesitation at the final moment. This is a minor addition that is worth including.
In the page builder, add a text element below the submit button.
Keep it to one short sentence.
Style it in a small, lighter font — it should support, not compete with, the button.
💡 Preview your order form on a mobile device as well as desktop before you go live. Most buyers will be on their phone. Make sure the form fields are easy to tap, the button is large enough, and the pricing is clearly visible without scrolling.
