Some of the emails your clients receive are sent automatically by Alvéya rather than written by you. Out of the box they are plain. No logo, no colour, nothing that looks like your business.
This guide shows you how to set a few custom values so those emails go out on brand instead.
Which emails this affects
These are the default templates sitting behind:
Invoices and estimates
Contracts
Community notifications
Certificates
Course emails, including enrolment confirmations, new content released through drip, comment notifications, and assessment emails
Once your custom values are set, all of these pick up your logo and your colours automatically.
Step 1: Upload your logo and copy the link
Go to your Media Storage and upload your logo file.
Click the three dots beside the file.
Select Get Link and copy it.
💡 A transparent PNG works best, as it will sit on a coloured background in the email.
Step 2: Add your logo and colours to Custom Values
Go to Settings, then Custom Values.
Find the logo value. In a new account this will usually be empty.
Click Edit, paste in the link you copied from Media Storage, and click Update.
Find the primary colour value, click Edit, and enter your brand colour as a HEX code (for example
#07636E).Do the same again for the background colour, using a lighter shade from your palette.
⚠️ Your primary colour sits behind the buttons in these emails, and the button text is set to white. Choose something from the darker side of your palette so the text stays readable.
Step 3: Check your system email templates
The branded templates are already loaded into your account, so there is nothing to build here.
Go to Marketing, then Emails, then Templates.
Open System Email Templates.
Open any template to check your values have pulled through.
You should see your logo at the top, your background colour behind the content, and your primary colour on any buttons.
Step 4: Point your course emails at the branded templates
Your course and membership emails are still set to the plain default template, so each one needs to be pointed at its branded version.
Go to Memberships, then Courses.
Open Settings, then Email Settings.
Click on the default template beside the first email in the list.
Search for the matching branded template. For example, for the invoice email, search Invoice Created.
Click Save, then work your way down the list.
💡 To work out which template to choose, look at the title of the email you are on. The template names match. An email titled Joined The Group uses the Joined The Group template.
This part does take a little time. It is worth doing in one sitting so you know it is finished, and you only need to do it once.
FAQ
Q: What if my brand colour is quite light?
Use a deeper shade from your palette for the primary colour. The button text in these emails is white, so a light colour will be hard to read. Save your lighter shade for the background value instead.
Q: Do I need to set this up before I start selling courses?
It is worth doing early. These emails start sending as soon as someone enrols, buys, or joins a community, so setting your values up front means your clients never receive the plain version.
