You may have already done this as part of the overall domain setup when you started your account - If you have, you will see the custom portal domain in the client portal settings page
Connecting a subdomain to your client portal allows you to create a clean, branded URL for client portal even if you have your website hosted somewhere else
Instead of using your default url, you can publish your portal on something like:
members.yourdomain.com
portal.yourdomain.com
clients.yourdomain.com
This strengthens brand credibility and keeps your ecosystem cohesive without having to purchase another domain name. Keep in mind that this sub domain for the client portal may be used for people who are not actually patients yet but are accessing courses or freebies that are apart of your funnels.
Before You Begin
Make sure:
You own the main domain (e.g. yourdomain.com)
You have access to your domain provider (GoDaddy, Namecheap, Cloudflare, etc.)
Step 1: Decide on Your Subdomain
A subdomain is the part that appears before your main domain.
Example:
members.yourdomain.com
“members” is the subdomain.
Choose something that reflects the purpose of the funnel:
members
portal
join
workwith
Keep it simple and easy to type.
Step 2: Add the Subdomain Inside Alvéya
The process for this is almost identical how you would connect your primary domain so you can watch the video above. Instead of adding the "@", type in your subdomain word.
Go to Settings → Domains inside your sub-account
Click Connect Domain
Enter your chosen subdomain (e.g. members.yourdomain.com)
Continue to the DNS instructions
Alvéya will generate the required DNS record.
Step 3: Update DNS Records in Your Domain Provider
Log into your domain provider.
Go to:
DNS Settings or Manage DNSYou will add a new record.
Most commonly this will be:
Type: CNAME
Host/Name: members (or your chosen subdomain)
Points to: the target value provided by Alvéya (usually sites.ludicrous.cloud)
Save the record.
Important:
Do not modify your main domain A record if your website is hosted elsewhere.
Only add the new subdomain record.
Step 4: Verify the Domain in Alvéya
Return to Alvéya:
Settings → Domains
Click Verify.
DNS propagation can take:
A few minutes
Up to 24 hours in some cases
Once verified, the status will show as connected.
Step 5: Assign the Subdomain to Your Funnel
The next screen will be where you can allocate the subdomain to the client portal.
Your portal will now publish at:
subdomain.yourdomain.com
Best Practice Recommendations
Use:
Your main domain for your website
A dedicated subdomain for funnels
A separate subdomain for email sending
A separate subdomain for client portals
Keeping domains structured prevents conflicts and protects email deliverability.
