Before you start:
Before you start:
Your workflow must be published and set to Active before you can trigger it for contacts. If you haven’t built your workflow yet, start with the guide: How to Set Up an Email Automation Workflow.
Option 1 — Send to a Filtered Group of Contacts
If your contacts are already tagged or organised into a segment, you can filter down to that group and trigger the workflow for all of them at once.
Go to Contacts in the left-hand menu.
Use the filter options at the top to narrow your list. You can filter by tag, source, pipeline stage, or other criteria.
Once your filter is applied and you can see the contacts you want, select all of them using the checkbox at the top of the list.
Click the Trigger Automation button that appears in the toolbar.
Search for and select your workflow from the list.
Confirm to enrol those contacts into the workflow.
Tags are the easiest way to group contacts for this kind of send. If you haven’t tagged your list yet, it’s worth doing before you start — it makes targeting much simpler, especially if you plan to run similar campaigns in the future.
Option 2 — Select Contacts Manually
If you want to trigger the workflow for specific individuals rather than a filtered group, you can select them by hand.
Go to Contacts in the left-hand menu.
Scroll through your list and tick the checkbox next to each contact you want to include.
Once you’ve made your selections, click the Trigger Automation button in the toolbar.
Select your workflow from the list and confirm.
This option works well for smaller groups or one-off sends where you know exactly who should receive the emails.
Option 3 — Send to Your Entire List
If you want to send to everyone in your contacts with no filtering, select all contacts and trigger the workflow.
Go to Contacts in the left-hand menu.
Make sure no filters are active so your full contact list is showing.
Use the Select All checkbox at the top of the list to select every contact.
Click Trigger Automation in the toolbar.
Select your workflow and confirm.
Before triggering to your entire list, double-check that you want everyone to receive this particular sequence. Contacts who have already received these emails — or who you’ve previously unsubscribed — should be excluded where possible.
What Happens Next
The first email will send according to the workflow’s schedule, and each following email will go out based on the wait times you set.
You can monitor progress by going to Automation and clicking on the workflow — the Enrolled tab will show you who is active in the sequence and where they are up to.
If you need to stop the workflow for any contact at any time, you can remove them from the automation inside their individual contact record.
Your contacts are enrolled and your emails are on their way — your sequence is doing the follow-up work for you.
